The Central Zone Showjumping Day was hosted by Lancefield PC on September 30 on what eventually turned out to be a nice sunny afternoon. Many thanks to the Lancefield club members who worked hard to set up the rings on Grand Final day.
Riders competed in a two-phase class and a two-round championship, and clubs were competing for the Fimister Shield (awarded on accrued placing points). The best strategy for success in a club competiion is to have riders in every section, especially in the higher grades where there are very few competitors. However, this year the Gisborne riders blitzed F grade - and they won!
Macedon (winners since 2013), placed second based on the performance of 3 riders.
Robert Rautman won both his E grade classes and stayed to claim the Macedon pennant.
Oaklands placed third with points from 4 riders. Here are two who stayed to the end of the day with their proud DC, Joanna Brennan.
Not all competitors stayed for the presentations. Here are those who did for the classes in each grade.
J'Aimee Mallon (Macedon) got points for first in both her B grade events.
In C grade, Stella Eales (Bullengarook) placed 3rd in the 2-phase and 1st in the 2-round.
Leilani Justice (Melton) won the 2-phase and came 3rd in the 2-round. Darcy Vinycomb placed 2nd in both classes.
D grade winners and placegetters in the 2-phase and the 2-round.
E grade winners and placegetters in the 2-phase and the 2-round
