On Tuesday May 8 the annual Central Zone Information night was held at the Riddells Creek clubrooms. The evening is especially planned as an introduction for newly elected committee members but experienced committee members also came along to add insights into running a club and to hear the presentation on implementing Child Safe policies.
Acting sergeant Tanya Lang, from the Major Crime Scene unit explained the 7 standards required by legislation for a Child Safe Club. Tanya has 2 children, 7 & 10, at PC and has a realistic appreciation of what actions are important and do-able by a PC committee. Tanya also explained the use and limitations of the WWCC and described how to recognise vulnerable chidren and educate them to be safe.
See the PCV webpage for information on implementing the 7 standards. http://www.ponyclubvic.org.au/default.asp?Page=30684
